Why choose Chesterman
Come for an unhurried beach walk or to watch the water from dry sand. The beach is also part of Tofino’s surf landscape, but the right spot depends on conditions. A surf lesson is a better starting point than copying where someone else paddles out.
Getting to the beach
Use designated beach access and check parking instructions on arrival. Leave driveways and neighbourhood streets clear. If you are staying on the beachfront, ask your property which facilities are for guests and which access points are public.
Tides and shoreline walks
The exposed shoreline changes with the tide. Do not rely on a low-tide route remaining available for the return, and do not treat offshore land as an invitation to explore. Keep a conservative turnaround point and check tide and weather resources.
Make it part of your trip
Combine a walk with a relaxed meal or make the beach your accommodation base. Compare location, room type and total cost in where to stay. For a different kind of beach day, look at Cox Bay.
