Long Beach belongs to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, between Tofino and Ucluelet. Make it a destination in its own right, not a quick stop you squeeze between bookings.

Make space for a long beach walk

Choose a designated day-use area, then set a modest turnaround point. The open shoreline can tempt you to keep walking, but wind, tide and energy still matter. Carry drinking water and a layer even if you only intend a short visit.

Park passes and access

Check Parks Canada’s current entry requirements, fees and notices before leaving. A national park visit is different from parking at a municipal beach in Tofino. Use designated lots and do not improvise roadside parking when they are full.

Ocean and wildlife awareness

Follow current pet restrictions and keep wildlife at a distance. Avoid crossing channels or creeks where conditions make the return uncertain. Read posted warnings and choose a dry-land walk when the ocean is rough.

Pair the beach with the forest

Combine the beach with an open rainforest trail for a varied day. If you want to stay in the park, research Green Point camping in advance. Leave enough time for the drive back before a dinner reservation.
