From Vancouver by ferry and road
If driving from Vancouver, compare BC Ferries routes to Vancouver Island and reserve the sailing that works for your itinerary. The ferry is only one leg: allow for terminal check-in, the crossing and the drive to the west coast. There is no direct vehicle ferry to Tofino.
Driving across Vancouver Island
The road journey uses Highway 4 toward the west coast. Check DriveBC before departure and again before the return, allowing for weather, construction and stops. Set your navigation to the actual accommodation address. Do not plan the trip around a best-case driving time.
Flying to the coast
Check current operators, routes and schedules for Tofino–Long Beach Airport or floatplane services. Confirm baggage allowances and the transfer from your arrival point to your accommodation. Air services can be weather-dependent, so leave flexibility around essential connections.
Arriving without a car
Compare intercity transport through Tourism Tofino’s arrival resources and confirm the service operates on your date. Then solve the last leg to your room and your beach activities. Read getting around before booking a remote base without a vehicle.
Useful transport links
Check BC Ferries for current sailings and reservations and DriveBC for road notices. Save both resources for the return journey as well as your arrival. Use the Tourism Tofino arrival page below to find current air and ground operators.
